Gears and gear boxes are an important part of any machine. They are utilised to change speed, torque and direction of motion of its individual components. In fact almost every equipment is connected to the electric motor via a gear drive. The gear teeth of these drives invariably dip in lubricating oils which cool their mating surfaces, provide oil film of adequate strength and deaden their noise levels. In case of circulating systems a gear oil is sprayed on to the gear meshing surfaces.
Depending on the speed, the load and type of loading, the method of lubrication and other design considerations, only a proper lubricant can provide adequate protection to the mating gear surfaces. Not only the lubricant should have proper viscosity but it should also withstand the high oxidation and shock loading encountered at the operating temperatures.
IPOL INDUSTRIAL GEAR OILS are premium quality lubricants fortified with sulphur-phosphorous type of EP additives. They have excellent anti-foam, anti-rust and anti-oxidation characteristics making them ideal for systems subjected to heavy shock loads. These offer adequate service even at temperatures upto 110 C and may also be used for spray lubrication systems requiring extreme pressure.
IPOL COMPOUND GRADES grades are marketed over a wide viscosity range to take care of the variety of speed-load conditions encountered by the industry. These contain chemically active additives which react with the metal of the gear teeths to form an antiwelding film between them. All these grades meet IS 8406/93 specifications.
- IPOL COMPOUND GRADES offer the below mentioned BENEFITS :-
- Provide rust protection to the gear box internals.
- Reduce gear box operating temperatures.
- Offer excellent performance by reducing wear of the meshing gear teeth.
